Hello!

My name is Tsavdaris – Vallianos Minas.

The… Tsavdaris is the last name of my father, Aristides Tsavdaris

The: Vallianos is my mother’s last name, Vasiliki Vallianou.

I was born in 1994 in Athens and lived in Piraeus until I was six years old.

My nearby family tree says that I am originally from Kefalonia, Corfu, Peloponnese and Asia Minor. I am originally from Piraeus.

I was in first grade when my parents moved to Syros. I finished school in Syros and now the last two years I came back.

I left for a few years and lived in Thessaloniki. Where I studied music at the State Conservatory and the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

For the last two years I have been working for the Municipality of Syros-Ermoupoli in the Municipal Philharmonic as an 8-month contracted clarinetist.

My wish through this podcast is to create an archive of interviews with musicians who live in Syros and there are many of them!

Why did they start playing?

What instrument do they play? Do they sing?

Do they play in stores? Which shops have live music?

Of these shops, there are few left and even fewer are in the winter.

I want artist names, I want real conversations with people who deal with the world, this rich world of music, each in their own way. I want names of shops that support live music, that all these names remain in history, that the researcher of the future has the possibility to find information about the musical culture of the Municipality of Syros – Ermoupolis.
